‘Introspection’

A small patch of acacia trees, the Casceta, stands atop a gentle hill in the middle of the Tuscan countryside, between Cortona and Montepulciano. Around these acacias we have regenerated  a splendid twenty-year-old vineyard.

The vineyard sits on a scenic natural amphitheater of four hectares developed around the trees. Exposed to the south and the southwest, it nurtures four varieties of grape, namely, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.

This is the story of three lifelong friends with a shared passion for wine.

The acacia tree represents a link with our past. We all lived for several years in Africa, where the plant is omnipresent, known for its adaptive capacity. We have adopted it as our symbol at the heart of our project.

We grow the grapes according to the phases of the annual cycle with strict attention to each plant.

In the winery, we intervene as little as possible believing that such a noble terroir has evolved the best of the fruits.

The highest care to achieve the finest quality

Every January and February we undertake a short pruning to restrain the production and ensure the highest quality.

When spring is in full blossom, we conduct a careful selection of the shoots on the vines.

When summer comes, we trim by hand the leaves of each plant – focusing on the varieties that need the most  attention – Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese – in order to enhance the grapes’ exposure to the sun, which thickens their skins and boosts the organoleptic qualities of our wines.

Finally, we carefully hand select the grapes during the Autumn harvest, storing them in small boxes, to preserve their delicate structure.

These stages through the year reflect a careful understanding of the specific needs of each plant, providing an ideal balance between the soil, climate, exposure to the sun and the grape variety.

This harmony is reflected in the final product: a wine of exceptional quality that is the expression of the terroir and of our production choices.
